Well, we actually didn't evacuate as planned this morning. All week long the projected path of Ike was depending on the northern turn the hurricane is expected to make Friday afternoon right before landfall. Up until last night we were still well within it's path, but this morning it started looking that it was going to make a steeper turn north. So we decided to wait a few hours and this afternoon all predictions say we're not going to get more than tropical storm winds and that Ike looks like it's going to hit Galveston and Houston directly. But again, this all depends on Ike making that turn on Friday. But with almost all forecasters saying the same thing it's actually become safer to stay put. We're still under a hurricane watch, but most counties in our area aren't even under "voluntary evacuation" anymore. And if we were to leave now we'll hit all the evacuation traffic going on right now. So better to bunker down.
I would have logged on earlier, but as we were getting things ready for the storm (getting our generator set up) I twisted my ankle
Thanks again for all your support
