Author's note: This story takes place during the episode "Consequences." Those who have seen it will understand immediately what's going on. To those who have not seen this episode, I'd advise you to do so. But it's not necessary. Be warned though, this story does contain minor --in my opinion-- spoilers for said episode as well as "Bad Girls."

PROLOGUE

From the flight deck of the shuttle loomed the fourth moon of the gas giant Yavin. The habitable Yavin 4 was a bright sphere of blue and green against the star-speckled backdrop of space. The aptly named Yavin Runner II was originally designed as a small cargo ship, so there were no view ports in the hold which had been renovated for passengers.

Ahsoka - new design WIPby ~JosephB222

I've been dying to draw Ahsoka's new look since I first saw it. I grabbed a ton of screen shots from her first episode while it was on starwars.com. Fortunately they also released a couple of official images of her new look.

She obviously looks older, and taller, than when she was first introduced. If she was supposed to be 14 she looks like she's 16 now. I really couldn't get any clear shots of her shoto lightsaber, but it looks like a mini version of her regular one, just without those little wings.

The biggest problem I had with this sketch was Ahsoka's legs, actually everything from the waist down. I tried to give her a firm ready stance, but it just wasn't turning out right. It wasn't until I shifted her hips counter to her shoulders that it seemed to click. But I'm probably have to redraw her bottom half again, I think I made her hips a little too wide, and her right arm a little too long.

And I definitely have to add a little something to her expression, it kinda has that "nothing-going-on-in-there" Kristen Stewart (seriously, why does she look stoned in every Twilight poster

) look

****update January 13, 2011

Okay, so I couldn't go to bed without fixing this sketch. The changes actually turned out to be subtle. I lowered her left shoulder (it looked too shrugged). I did redraw her from the waist down, but it actually turned out all I had to do was lower belt on her hips and that seemed to work. For her expression I just made her look a little pissed (my "go to" expression

) She is an older teenager, she probably has more attitude now.

Okay, I just couldn't concentrate on anything else until I at least finished the lines for this drawing. Besides, I can't even tell you how many requests for the lineart

Added the base colors for Ahsoka. When I was watching The Clones Wars a couple of days ago I noticed that her "brows" grew some points downward in the middle. I'll have to correct the lineart soon.

Cool, it's fun seeing little snips grow up!
though, I think she was supposed to be eleven when she was introduced. Jedi Younglings have to become padawans by thirteen or they get shipped off to the Jedi Service corps, and since she wanted to prove she "wasn't too young to be a padawan." I would assumed that fourteen would actually be too old.
...
Forgive my nerdiness, i spend to much time on Wookieepidia. XD

You do make good points, but then in Episode I ObiWan was still a padawan and he looked like he was 20, or at least 20-ish

And I always thought Ahsoka did look younger than 14, but with her new look she doesn't seem like she would be any younger than 15. Going by just the information from the movies it seems being asigned to a master makes one a padawan

so I think it was more to do with whether or not the student is ready rather than an age requirement
