Dragon Age 2

This is just something I pasted together from images I took with a digital camera. My Hawke and the Bethany her appearance created and of course Varric :D I tried to do a blood splatter background for it.

This is where I'm going to post my full review of the game. Even though I was only able to rent it I did manage to finish the whole thing. I had to keep it acouple extra days (it's only a $1 each extra day ;p) but I just had to finish.

Until I write up my review (cause there is a ton to go over) here are my first impressions....


[Spoilers ahead]




*First off, this was a fuckin' awesome game!!! I haven't felt this way about a game since Mass Effect 2. Once I finished it, I just wanted to immediately start over.

*The new combat system is not just streamlined, but it's also much more fun.

*The new design of the Qunari is wickedly bad ass. When I draw Sten, I'm drawing him with the new look :D

*Knight Commander Meredith had the most bad ass-est entrance since .... I can't even remember.

*The story may not be as epic as Origins but it makes up for it by having more character depth, story, and more emotional investment which really helps it pay off in the end, which was satisfying yet wanting for more.

*This game made me fuckin' cry at least twice. The first time I was able to fix I just reloaded an old save and DID NOT take Bethany to the Deep Roads. And I think everyone knows what the second time was.

*And having a fully voiced and acted PC with different attitudes, and not just from dialogue responses, really improves the overall experience.

Bring anders with you into the deep roads with bethany. It will end with the best result that whole scenario can trigger..... also, the coolest outfit for beth XD

Once I finished the game I did check out some videos on youtube and I'm probably going to do that on my next playthrough. Though with Bethany in the Circle, it did make whether or not to defend the mages a simple choice. There was no way I was going to let the Templars kill my sister :D

That's the worst part :( My Hawke had a terrible run of luck with all that, and let's face it... the mages were asking for it! Practically everyone of them i had saved totally turned on me! Then frigging Anders (Hawke's love interest no less) tricks her into helping him cause DOOM! Wound up having to side with the Templars..... not that I think it changes the final boss in the least.

Only problem with Sten is that he's a hornless Qunari :(

Yeah, I'm just going to go with the assumption whoever told "Origins" wasn't as good a storyteller as Varric and didn't know what Qunari looked like. Based on some comments Varric makes that might explain why he made Zevran look so fugly in DA 2 :D But then again, the elves in general look like they were hit a few times with the ugly stick ;p

actually there are some qunari whom are born without horns and the arishok sends them to other lands to study their culture since the qunari without horns look less intimidating. that's why Sten was in Fereldan. and for the elves the creators didn't want them to look like just humans with pointy ears.

Yeah, I disregard all that hornless qunari stuff on account that it's really lame ;p And the elves looked just fine as human with pointed ears in Origins, plus they were also obviously shorter than humans. If it's a decision between ugly elves and short vulcans, I'll take the vulcans :D
