I want to try to keep a steady stream of posts going, so I'll be posting a lot of rough sketches like this.
Here is my rendition of Miss Martian. Not much different than how she appears in "Young Justice". I actually really love the art style of "Young Justice". It looks like it's the same universe as "Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths" And after the years of crap that was "The Batman" and the "Brave and the Bold" it is a very welcome sight
"The Batman" I wasn't too fond of it's character design, but I would have been able to suffer through it if it were actually a good show "Brave and the Bold", even if they had done good "Batman" stories I doubt I ever would have warmed up to its cartoony "Secret Saturdays" design
While I was watching the first two-part episode I actually found myself wishing for a Justice League show by these guys (I so want to draw their version of Hawk Girl ) The animation and the drawing was really good. But it did annoy me a bit that they completely left out the female members of the team, leaving this a boys-only show. I don't even thing any of the female superheroes had any dialogue I understand that they wanted to keep Artemis hidden for awhile, but why wait until the very end to reveal Miss Martian?
This was actually the first time I had even heard of Miss Martian (I've been out of the loop in comics for awhile ) And I really like her. Though, just like everyone, her "Hello Megan" is really annoying. Except that moment when she accidentally threw all that food on Superboy, and was trying to clean it off. That was the most natural it sounded.
I don't really like the smooth mini she wears on the show so I drew her with a pleated skirt like she has in the comics. And I drew her with more freckles (which I don't think she even has in the comics).
It bothers ne too how the seem to make a Boys show...I don't if I should take it as a sexist manner or what....
This is a very good sketch. I love it. And I'd really love to see you draw a Hawkgirl in this style.....I so love her!
Oh and she hardly interacted with Superboy in the comics either. Heh.
What I can't stand about YJ is how MM keeps throwing herself at Emoclone--oops Superboy. Well that, and "Hullo, Megan! Duh!"
