Description

Based on how this character looks, specifically her figure, I must have drawn this around 1993 or 1994. From 1990 to 1992 I drew my characters, especially females really skinny, then by the end 1992 I started drawing them with fuller figures. Or rather, more buffed ;p She definitely looks like she stepped out of a fitness magazine :D

I'm not sure where the idea for this character came from. Probably a combination of Judge Dredd and some other sci-fi, maybe a book cover. But I do remember I got the idea for the lever-action laser shotgun from the Winchester Shotgun Arnold used in "Terminator 2: Judgement Day". And keep in mind this was about fifteen years before Mass Effect came alone with their plasma/laser guns ;)

Speaking of which, you can see how she is an archetype for my Commander Shepard (I would have loved to have given Shepard hair this long if I could). And then there is my Jedi Padawn that I drew even before I knew about Mass Effect

And of course I loved drawing Voodoo (from WildCATS) from way back when In fact, I'm starting to think Voodoo was the genisis for this character archetype for me

I guess I never came up with a name for her or even a premise beyond "futuristic/space cop" otherwise I'm pretty sure I would have wrote her name on the sheet of paper. I also sure I inked the drawing using a rolling pilot pen (I didn't start getting "artists" pens until about 5 years ago) and used pencils crayons to color it. I may have used a sharpie to color in the more solid blacks, and I used Crayola Markers for the shading on her uniform and her lipstick :D And it looks like I completely forgot to color her belt buckle ;p

Maybe I'll re-ink this drawing using my light table so I can re-color it with paint shop :)

****Edit -- Now I remember what influenced this character design. It was still "Judge Dredd" but it was also that cartoon series "BraveStarr" (from the same people who did the original He-Man and She-Ra series) a space western type series (not unlike Firefly, just not as cool ;p )
