TF - Elita-1 WIP

I really liked how my Arcee pin-up (that I posted a few weeks ago) turned out I really wanted to try drawing another female autobot. So I figured why not THE female autobot, Elita-1?

Now I've seen some really good Elita-1 art here at DA, but no two designs looked alike, so, like with my Arcee, I decided to stick with original design from the series. Unfortunately, the DVD set of TF I do own didn't contain the only episode the female autobots appear in Luckily I was able to find the ep on youtube (support TF, buy the DVDs folks), it was the only episode I downloaded, and purely for artistic research

As it turns out the episode was drawn and animated rather crappily so it was sometimes difficult to get down her design. I did take some liberties with her headdress/helmet thingie and made it a little more Prime-ish. I mean, not only is she the leader of the female autobots she (according to G1 canon) was the very 2nd autobot ever built. And since Alpha Trion (sp?) specifically said he was going to rebuild her based on Optimus's design that pratically makes her a Prime herself So I figured she should at least be as tall as Optimus and I didn't want to make her as "girlie" (sorry ) as Arcee. So if Arcee were to look like Black Widow as a human, then Elita-1 would probably look like She-Hulk as an autobot But I still wanted her to look obviously female, just a lot more buff looking.

I haven't been able to work on this pic for a few weeks now, but I wanted to post something new, amongst all the old stuff I've been posting. I'll probably have to redo her "horns" and I still need to add the rest of her gun (I used the design of the gun Arcee used in the battle of Autobot City in the movie ), where it cuts off is where I ran out of paper.

I hadn't realized how much progress I had made on this pic, I totally forgot that I had added the base colors too. I do remember that I didn't want pink to be her primary color, especially with Arcee already the pink Autobot , so I went more maroon.
